The Yellow Line (Line 4), also known as the Lighthouse–Poonamallee corridor, spans about 26.1 km with 18 elevated and 9 underground stations, including the Poonamallee Bypass terminal.
The Poonamallee Bypass metro station is an elevated, two-platform station set to open around December 2025. It will also house a major metro depot with 24 tracks for train maintenance and operations
The Porur–Poonamallee stretch (approx. 9–10 km, with 10 elevated stations) is part of this corridor and is a top priority—expected to be launched by the end of 2025.
Ongoing progress includes 70% station completion, active electrification, track laying, and successful trial runs evaluating safety, signalling, and structural integrity.
